Seal integrity and resistance to tear propagation are probably more important than a single headline strength number.
Kitchen waste creates mixed loads: wet food, rigid packaging edges, concentrated weight, and repeated contact with the bin rim.
A good test plan should include:
- wet-load hanging;
- bottom-seal testing;
- puncture with realistic objects;
- drop testing;
- removal from a full bin;
- low- and high-temperature conditioning;
- aging after storage.
It is also important to test fit. A bag that is technically strong but too tight around common 13-gallon bins may fail at the rim before the material reaches its nominal capacity.
