The risk would come from poorly bound particles, surface dust, inconsistent additives, or inadequate quality control—not from the concept of bamboo fiber itself.
For apparel packaging, I would require:
- surface rub testing;
- particle-shedding inspection;
- odor testing;
- color-transfer testing;
- migration or chemical screening where relevant;
- exposure testing against light and dark fabrics;
- heat and humidity conditioning.
The final bag should also be evaluated after printing and conversion, because those steps can change the surface.
A premium apparel brand should test the finished commercial package directly against its garments.
