Usually, higher natural-fiber loading makes high optical clarity more difficult.
Fiber particles scatter light, so the film may become hazy, matte, or slightly textured. That is not always a disadvantage. For apparel packaging, a controlled frosted finish can look more premium than a perfectly clear conventional polybag.
The right question is whether the application actually needs full transparency.
For product inspection or barcode scanning, controlled translucency may be enough. For display packaging, clarity requirements may be higher. For trash bags or mailers, opacity can be beneficial.
The optical target should be designed around the application rather than treated as a universal quality metric.
